Undergraduate application deadlines

In order to join a university in the UK, an application needs to be made through UCAS. UCAS is the organisational body that handles all the higher educational applications on behalf of every university in the UK.

Over the last few years it has been the pattern that deadlines for applications is in mid-January. So for example, if you wished to apply for a course that is running in the academic year of September 2014 – June 2015, you will need to have completed and sent off your application by mid-January 2014. Most students however are generally advised to complete their applications and send them off prior to the Christmas holidays in December.

The upcoming dates for entry into the academic year 2014 / 2015 are as follows:

  • 15 October 2013
Applications for Oxford, Cambridge or any course in medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine/science should arrive at UCAS by midnight of this date. The reference has to be completed before the application can be sent to us.

  • 15 January 2014
Applications for the majority of courses should arrive at UCAS by 18:00 of this date (check course details for the correct deadline). The reference has to be completed before the application can be sent to us.

  • 25 February 2014
Processing of Extra university choices begins.

  • 24 March 2014
Applications for some art and design courses should arrive at UCAS by 18:00 of this date (others have a 15th January deadline – check course details to confirm the correct deadline). The reference has to be completed before the application can be sent to us.

  • 7 May 2014
If you receive all your university/college decisions by 31 March you must reply to any offers by this date (except for Extra choices) or they'll be declined.

  • 8 May 2014
If you applied by the January deadline and you’re still waiting, universities will decide whether they’re making an offer by now (otherwise those choices are automatically made unsuccessful).

  • 5 June 2014
If you receive all your university/college decisions by 8 May you must reply to any offers by this date (unless you applied in the Extra choices section) or they’ll be declined.

  • 26 June 2014
If you receive all your university/college decisions by 5 June you must reply to any offers by this date (unless you applied in the Extra choices section) or they'll be declined.

  • 30 June 2014
If you send your application to us by 18:00 of this date, we'll send it to your chosen universities and colleges; after this date you’re entered into the Clearing process.

  • 2 July 2014
Last date to apply through the Extras section

  • 17 July 2014
If you applied before 30 June and are waiting for decisions, universities and colleges will decide whether or not they’ll make you an offer by this date.

  • 24 July 2014
If you receive all universities/college decisions by 17 July – including Extra choices – you must reply to any offers by this date (or they’ll be declined).

  • 14 August 2014

  • 20 September 2014
This is the final deadline for applications to 2014 courses.

  • 30 September 2014
The Clearing vacancy search closes; you can still add Clearing choices in Track – but contact universities and colleges directly to discuss vacancies first.

  • 22 October 2014
This is the deadline for adding Clearing choices and universities or colleges accepting Clearing applicants.
